Patrons and Ambassadors
We are proud to have an Ambassador and Patrons who have been long-term supporters of our organisation and are personally committed to supporting the families we work with.
Atul Kochhar has been our Ambassador for many years, enabling us to raise awareness of our work and raise vital funds. He was the first Indian Chef to be awarded a Michelin Star during his time at Tamarind restaurant and was later awarded a second Michelin Star at his world renowned restaurant Benares.
Atul was born in Jharkhand and is particularly motivated by our work with vulnerable families there, and in addition to supporting our organisation here in the UK he has also visited our work in Jharkhand to meet with the families we support personally.
"I grew up in India and have seen poverty closely and know the difference a charity like Find Your Feet can make. I’m addicted to this charity; it’s doing amazing work. What is different is that they don’t just simply give money; they invest in the community so people learn the skills they need for a life without hunger. I’ve seen first-hand their passion and commitment to their work and the impact they have on the lives of poor people".
Atul Kochhar, speaking in 2015.
Stephen previously sat on the Find Your Feet board as a trustee and continues to support the organisation as our honorary accountant and Patron. In his role as our honorary accountant he provides us with invaluable financial advice, management and insight.
Stephen is a Chartered Accountant and during his career held positions as an Auditor, a Management Consultant both in the UK and overseas and as a Finance Director in a government owned company. He is now retired.
In addition to supporting our organisation here in the UK Stephen and his wife Mary have also visited our work in northern India to meet with the communities we work with.
Tim was previously the Director of Find Your Feet and he continues to support the organisation as one of our Patrons. During his time with the organisation he was instrumental in developing our approach and our geographical focus as well as strengthening our organisational capacity.
More recently Tim founded the company William Allan Ltd a consultancy firm that provides a new approach to Clothing Supply that is economical, commercial and ethically sustainable.
We are very grateful to have the support of a number of ambassadors and companies who are involved in our annual Curry for Change campaign. They help us spread the word about our work and raise vital funds so families tackle the hunger they face. See a list of our Curry for Change partners and champions here.
