Fundraising Champions: LSE

LSE RAG

From September 2012 to 2013 we partnered with the LSE Student Raising and Giving (RAG) Society as their chosen international charity. As a small organisation we were delighted to have the support of LSE Students who set to work spreading the word and raising vital funds in aid of the families we work with.

The RAG society were extremely enthusiastic and generous with their support. They organised a whole host of events including a student ball, a battle of the halls, a sponsored row, a people auction, and LSE students took part in the Tough Guy Challenge, skydives and hitchhikes across Europe. All in the name of fundraising!

Impressed by the partnership, one of our supporters, Bim Sandhu, generously pledged to match every pound raised by the RAG Society for their charity partners.

Bim Sandhu completed a BSc (Econ) degree at LSE in 1983 and since then has gone on to found an award winning property development business, The Santon Group. Bim, brought up in London, but whose family are originally from Punjab in India, is passionate about giving something back to the community, both locally in London and through organisations like Find Your Feet.

"My time at LSE was an important step in my career which is why I was very happy to support the fundraising efforts of my fellow students, especially when they are supporting Find Your Feet, a charity I know does important work." Bim Sandhu, Chief Executive, The Santon Group.

As a result of Bim's generous pledge, the commitment of the LSE Student RAG committee and the enthusiasm of LSE students, they succeeded in raising an incredible £15,000. This will make a life-changing difference to the families we work with. So, a huge thank you to all those involved.
