Launching Curry for Change 2013

Curry For Change 2013

To launch the Curry for Change campaign we hosted a special Indian food master class at London’s Cinnamon Kitchen on Wednesday 5th June. Top Chefs and campaign ambassadors, Vivek Singh (founder of Cinnamon restaurant group), Dhruv Baker (winner of Master chef 2010) and Anjum Anand (writer, chef and founder of Spice Tailor) each demonstrated one of their signature dishes and shared their top tips.

Guests were able to sample Dhruv’s Malaba Prawn Curry starter, Vivek’s roast saddle of lamb with root vegetables and pickling sauce, and Anjum’s Pomegranate soufflé with rose and raspberry cream.

Although the night was about celebrating Indian cuisine and tasting the delicious dishes that our campaign ambassadors had created, is was also about taking a moment and thinking about the families around the world, particularly those in India, who suffer from hunger every day.

Staggeringly, it is estimated that one in eight people around the world currently suffer from hunger. The majority of these people, like the families we work with, live in very remote rural areas of Asia and Africa, where other forms of support are scarce.

But with our support, and the support of people taking part in Curry for Change, we can provide families with the skills and knowledge to develop their land, and grow more food so children and grandchildren can stay healthy.

You can help us change lives by visiting one our partner restaurants or by hosting your own curry evening. You can see who else is involved in Curry for Change here.
