International Women's Day - 8th March 2012
During March Find Your Feet’s projects in India and Nepal will be marking International Women’s Day. Across the states where we work women and their families suffer from food shortages and a lack of vital services such as healthcare and education, but the women struggle to get their voices heard so have little or no opportunities to change their situation. We work with women to provide them with information on their rights and support them to build the confidence and skills to address the issues they face.
Women leading changeOn the 8th March across our project areas we will bring women together to take part in awareness raising activities around the issues that are affect them, such as:
The women then gathered together and enjoyed an evening of singing, dancing and eating. Women inspiring womenMany of the activities will include talks from local women leaders and the opportunity to share experiences and offer support to each other. Inspired by success stories workshops will be run to improve women’s leadership and build confidence.
Many of our projects will hold a special presentation marking International Women's Day so they can celebrate achievements of the women who have been active in community awareness and womens rights, and inspire others to get involved.
Donate: £15 could provide 12 women in India with the skills and training they need to enable them to start small businesses so they can provide for their families and build a secure future.
Get involved: Why not host an event, take part in a special challenge or join one of our running event teams and help to raise vital funds, your support can bring about lasting change to the lives of the women we work with
